    so, what yee think?
Ok for the first time, but it's just so annoying seeing them again!
They have very little replay value.
I'm sick to death of the cuba one and the campaign as a whole.

However, Carlsburg are running an excellent campaign with their Export brand.
Anyone see the one being shown in cinemas of the truck driver going through customs with the cuddly toy?
Fantastic ad that has more longevity I think.

I supposed I may as well point out I'd drink either of the two really... not brand loyal to either of the above.

I personally never got tired of the Heineken advert set in Prague.

The music was just so cool.

I'm not so keen on the Cuban one though.

You know having been to Prague a few times im pretty sure i have seen it there :D

Anyway im not brand loyal either.. right now im a carlsberg man as they have the 8 cans for €11.99 offer.
I go for the best deal without getting crap.
Stella is usually a good one, dont know why they advertise it being expensive when its actually one of the cheapest good brands...

    Good point.
It's "reassuringly expensive" yet its always on offer here!
I go over to the UK a fair bit, and although it had an image there "wifebeater", it's not that cheap.
Fosters seems to be the really cheap stuff there.

Apparently sales of Stella have fallen in the UK by nearly 10% over the past year or so but they are resisting cutting price as there is a value attached to consumers' perception of the Stella brand, "so if you start discounting it, it could involve risks" (according to IntBev, the owners).

Perhaps they've just gone ahead and slashed the prices here instead to balance the books.

Those Heineken ads are an example of that cold-war/communism chic fad and it has never appealed to me. As if people living in an oppressive regime had nothing to worry about but getting their hands on some mediocre beer from the West! And in the Cuban one, he only brings back a few bottles - they'd be gone within half an hour! What a waste!

Well it was fairly well documented at the time that eastern blockers were quite interested in getting hold of western goods. To them it was easier to get a symbol of the west than change their opressive regime. Any book on (for example) the experience of westerners in the USSR will have at least one reference to this..

Yeah, but I'd heard this being done with dry-goods such as jeans rather than beer. Forgive me if this displays severe ignorance of beer production behind the Iron Curtain, but surely beer of a reasonable quality was available?

The Czechs always made great beer before and after the Iron curtain.

I think the ad is a Joke and not meant to be taken seriously.

Well, the joke's on Heineken now because I won't be drinking their beer again!

    Why ?

It will be a hard resolution to stick to - the stuff is ubiquitous (except on decent special offers..).

Not really. I'll go on the stout if necessary!

(Although I have to say that Heineken tastes really good in Holland, strangely enough).
