Do you lose your faith, ambition and spirituality as you get older?

Since turning 28 (and over the past year or so) I seem to be letting all those ambitions I had in my head when I was 21 slip out of my head and its p*ssing me off! The past year has been dog rough and Ive managed to get through dodgy times before but is it an age thing or are we meant to only take so many knocks?

Anyway just a random thought: Do you lose your faith and ambition and spirituality as you're get older? 40 odd year olds can be moany oul fúcks at the best of times

    - is it their age? Have they seen too much? Are they just going through the motions?

If you look at the spark in the eyes of a 21 year old its just not there in a 41 year old most times out of ten.

This is not a Personal Issue or strictly a Spirituality thing so I put it in AH.

Am looking forward to your views

I suppose the crux of my question is: is it better to burn out than to fade away? :D

i think its purely personal...take my father for example (he's 46)...he has as much fire and passion aboutt his life that i do and i'm 23...then take one of my mates who's 26 he is like a moany oul lad who i am findin hard to connect with...I go to gigs with my da andall that stuff cos he's a sound bloke who u can have a laugh with...wouldn't go with mymate tho(btw my mate wasn't always like that ;))

I have ("had"?) a mate like that and have to say Im distancing myself from him after years of friendship. I just hate moany young people who have nothing but a cynical view on life.
