The cast of new US TV show Lost are angrily demanding a pay rise after discovering the DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES cast are paid five times more.

MATTHEW FOX, EVANGELINE LILY and DOMINIC MONAGHAN are disgusted with ABC for paying TERI HATCHER and her co-stars at least $198,000 (GBP110,000) for each episode while they receive a measly $36,000 (GBP20,000).

The series has been sold to over 70 countries worldwide but ABC insist the cast are fairly paid.

And Fox is leading the revolt, he fumes, "To describe our pay as modest is a massive understatement. We're busting our asses for very little recognition."

Excellent point but its still a little low for cast with the show being such a huge hit,its so much better than Desperate house wives.

It's quite a difference alright, but as for how much of an increase they should get I can't say, but they should get something a bit more than that don't you think?

It also involves a lot less in the costume, plastic surgery, makeup departments.

OK, so there is quite a bit of make up for Lost, but its mostly just a bit of blood thrown about the place and a guy in a polar bear suit. Although I think one of the Lost must be a hairdresser as the women all seem to have managed to keep their hairdo's in pretty good shape so far.

Don't forget how expensive Lost was to make (especially the first few episodes).

Fox and co. get to work on a hawaiian beach for 6 months a year. Boo frikkin' hoo!

I'd say there's a lot more to do make-up wise on LOST than there is on Desperate Housewives. On Desperate Housewives, it's just normal make-up that you'd have for most tv, the actresses could learn to do that themselves fi they were bothered.

Keeping the right amount of dirt on everyone and keeping a record of where everyone's cuts and bruises and making them look like they heal naturally is more complex. It's much more advanced, because they have to make normal clean people look like they've been on an island for a month without throwing muck on their faces.
