    Yeah ive heard they have gone to ****e the CRT TV's that is now.

    have 32inch just over 3 years.philips repair agent says tubes gone {320}for tube,{200}for labour.seems like be cheaper to buy a new tv

    Could possibly explain why they've become so cheap in comparison to Sony, Panasonic etc.

    We hate phillips ctvs-especially the a10e model...faults range from no sound or picture,jumps from off air pictures to av1 then no response to remote,geometry problems...all faults are due to one microprocessor (which is surface mount and impossible to remove from the pcb without board damage-
    Most of the time the chip needs reprogramming but in order to do that you need phillips compaire(a computer program-320 pounds worth!!) in order to do it.
    because of this we have to scrap most of them.Phillips tubes are also getting to be unreliable(certain wide screen tubes) which we find fitted to a large number of sets all different models-cathode heater shorts are the main reason for failure.
    dont buy a phillips wide screen set...
