Out of interest is anybody into this, pretty fascinating hobby but there dosent seem to be a scene in Ireland at all, certainly not one organised like there is in most countries.

Is there a policy of confusion now?

I found this website before - http://www.infiltration.org/ and it was the first I'd heard of such a thing. Read a lot of the articles on there, and I find it very interesting.

Probably wouldn't get up to it myself, though I am curious about what's hidden in certain places.

Anyone know the truth on whether there's a tunnel running underneath Dublin? I heard that before, somewhere near St. Michan's I believe.

I remember reading something like this before on the topic of what's below Penn station in NY, because apparently there are several unused levels below it? There was loads of urban exploration going on there, it was fascinating, can't remember where it was though.

Nevertheless, in terms of secret tunnels: there are some under UCD, I can tell you that much. Allegedly there are some under the GPO as well that are used to transport things - though the veracity of that can't be verified...

I have also heard of numerous tunnels in TCD

Dude, this was cool in the 1960s.

    It's all about sub-urban exploration.

I've also heard of unused tunnels underneath Dublin Airport. The story I heard was that they were built (or left unused) for some future transportation reason, and will now be used for the future LUAS line.

I know there's an unused baggage hall underneath Dublin Airport, because I've been a few times when I worked there.

Incidentally (or perhaps one of them was reading this...?) the subject of secret tunnels under Dublin came up on the Strawberry Alarm Clock this morning about 30 minutes ago...

Is this the jumping from building to building thing on the BBC ads or is it just walking around back streets?

Nah the jumping around thing is parkour of free-running.

From what i understand Urban Exploration is running arounds abandoned buildings and other places the general public are not supposed to be.

The entire section of front square in Trinity has tunnels connecting the buildings aroung. Some are blocked off, however.

There are others in the Long Room (building where the book of kells is in)

Well there was some pictures of Irish UE'ers on on eof the big websites not too long ago, although sadly they seem to be gone, not sure what happened!

But yeah I know about UCD, Im there myself, those tunnels are hilarious but theres a ton of 'secret' places in UCD, especially if youre a stoner...

Anyway there really dosent seem like too many places to get up to this kind of thing in Dublin, especially since any interesting place tends to be occupied by gangs of youngfellows anyway.
