    Hey,

Following on from my earlier thread regarding Norton Utilites having no uninstall files to remove itself (still not got rid of it) and now the fact that Panda AV wont remove itself either :/ I downloaded the installation file but it detects a previous version and says to remove that instead but that doesnt work as the uninstallation dies at 25% (either stalls or reports an error).

Any thoughts? This has to be the WORST trial of a program iv ever done. Bloody hell

Well as I've ranted elsewhere, those programs are often worse than the spyware and virii they're supposed to remove!

You could try using REGEdit to remove Panda from your registry and then delete the relevent files by hand. Its pretty simply to use as its lists who/what the various bits and bobs it finds are connected to.

Ill use RegSeeker to seek it out and remove all registry entrys - then remove all the files on PC

    Dear Customer,

I am contacting you regarding your query.

In order to solve your incidents please do as follow:
1.- Incident with the protections and the username and pasword:
In order to solve this incident we are going to download the latest version available from our website 4.02.00 in order to upgrade it to the 4.02.01 version directly.
In order to download the latest version of Panda Titanium Antivirus 2005, follow the steps described in the following help page available in our Online Tech Support Center: How do I download the latest version of Panda Titanium Antivirus 2005?
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/support/card.aspx?id=21012&IdIdioma=2&ref=SopMonPlan

Once you got saved the file in your computer go to start > settings > control panel > add/remove programs and uninstall the version you got installed. Once you have reboot the machine after the uninstall execute the downloaded file and do a custom installation.

In the custom installation do not enable yet the firewall protection.
Finish the installation and without entering any usernam or password in the antivirus yet update it. Open the antivirus and go to updates > download now. It will download the last virus signature file and the upgrade for the 4.02.01 version.

It will ask to reboot the machine. Do it.

After you have rebooted open the antivirus and assure that in the title bar appear the version (4.02.01).
Then enable the firewall and be assure that it loads correctly and the rests of protections too.

For the incident with the usernam and password enter the settings section > automatic updates settings and fill the username and password fields respecting the uppercases of the letters in the username and password.
Also remind you the correct username and password:
    Username: *removed*
    Password: *removed*
Note that in the password we have not uppercases g, they are all number 6.
Enter them and try to check the data and update the antivirus.
If you got some error message please do an screenshot for us.
To do this, follow these steps:
    1. When the configuration window is displayed, click on the PrtSc key in your keyboard.
    2. Open a new Word document.
    3. In the upper menu, select Edit > Paste.
    4. Save the Word file as Panda, for example.
    5. Attach the Word document to an e-mail and send it to us to check the collected information.

2.- For the email incident you must save the recieved email in a .eml or .msg format and compress it in a zip file in order to study it.

Some of the spam or phising or malicious code is inside the header of the email in non-visible part of the email and may execute some code at your machine and the email doesn't appear to have any menace. Please compress the saved email (in .eml o .msg) in a zip file (in order we get the complete header) and we will study that email.

3.- If you have cutted your connection trough lan from another computer to your shared folders or tools open the antivirus and go to settings > automatic protection settings > firewall protection and disable it temporay. Check if you can print by Lan.
If you can print go back to the firewall settings and enter the program permissions to acess the network and be assure that we haven't denied any panda or windows process. If you have denied by error modify them to have inbound and outbound connection and test again to print by lan.

If you still have the incident in the same section of permissions click on regenerate list in order to print again through lan and be asked for permissions. If you still have the same incident go to the network adaptor section and be assure that there is the correct adaptor and that it's settings are for the Local Area Network instead for the internet. If not change it, save the changes and test if you can print by LAN.

4.- The messages of the renewall that appears only appear when the customer has 15 days or less to renew the software in order to alert him of this fact. These messages doesn't have a "Not Show Again" because the licence for the antivirus management and updating (and so for the protection) is the most important thing. If you have more than 15 days of licence these messages will not appear of course.

Finally inform you that in ireland we haven't yet a National Organization of Panda so the support of Ireland we carry it here at the international techsupport. That's the reason that ireland doesn't appear in the country list at the tech form.

Personally has visited ireland and love it, so we know that ireland is a country, only for the techsupoprt and the rests of the actions will be done here at the international departments.

Hope that this email solves some of your incidents and hope to hear from you soon.

For any further inquiries related to this matter, please quote the incident number 1226022.
Should you consider our response satisfactory, we would ask you to send us an e-mail to
techsupport@pandasoftware.com confirming this. If we haven't heard from you within a period of
10 days we will assume that the incident has been dealt with correctly and the issue will be closed.

    Best Regards,
