    *cough*
Saunter into store B, buy them for 22

return them to original store because they "aren't working" (no way they'll bother testing them there), handing in the receipt for 36.

    I'm sneaky, aren't I?

    aint that my luck.
If you bought them last week they should still be under the Argos 16-day no quibble return policy. Just return them, no reason needed, then go get them again at the new price.

You really shouldn't do that - depending on who you get they could check them. I worked with one girl who was notorius for checking EVERYTHING that she possibly could.

Tell them it's intermittent, like a loose connection or something ;)

    It is what it's.

OFDM is right, it is a no quibble returns policy (except certain items which are excluded from the 16 day return, like razors or games).
Just say you got them as a present and didnt want them.

There are exclusions though. Anything brought back must be in re-saleable condition. Headphones would be one item that the 16 day money back guarantee would not cover. Of course, if they develop a fault within a few months, they'll replace or maybe even refund them.

    It is what it's.

I presume they are infra-red cordless and not RF / FM (which would mean you could use them all around the house)

No, they are infared, but for 22euro they are great. Can use them over about 7m which is alright i thought :).

They would check them if there broke(In most places). The headfphones also might be excluded from the 16 day money back policy for hygenic reasons.Oh well one way to find out :p

argos will take anything back. Just say it's not working properly. Never say " oh, I changed my mind ect ' , they start giving you the third degree, much quicker to say there's a problem with it.

They just check to see that everything is there. And sometimes they don't even do that if you look honost.

They will sometimes replace goods even if you don't have a receipt, as long as you can show proof of purchase such as a c/c. Normally there is a sticker with the catalouge number on the item and this will do sometimes.

As for the items that are excluded from the 16 day money day back guarentee, Argos will replace/refund these if they develop a fault. Sometimes you have to be a bit insistent. I've never had a problem with this.

If something breaks/develops a fault within one year and you have you're receipt they will replace it.

Manufacturers hate Argos for taking goods back so readily; It's doesn't cost Argos a penny. I belive the suppliers take the hit. If they have a problem with it, they're taken out of the next catalouge. Sometimes the goods are sent back to the makers, other times they are bought by warehouses and then sold by the pallet load to resellers who take a chance wether people returned them because of a fault or buyers remorse. A salesman who worked in a worked for a company selling returns told me this once.

Of course, why shouldn't they take back stuff if you don't like it?
You can't really examine the goods before you buy them. They have practically a full street in one shop -furniture/bicycles/electronics ext.
    A great idea.

If something in the excluded from the 16 day rule is faulty they have to offer a full refund by law, you do not have to accept repair or a replacement. If you have something you wish to return you could make it faulty yourself and then demand a cash refund, not that I would condone such dishonesty...

Just buy them again at the cheaper price and return the unopened box with original higher price receipt and get your original amount refunded.
