just a quick question. Does anyone know whether an employee is obliged to work overtime, especially on short notice?
I've tried looking up the legislation on the government website, but I cant find anything exact on it.

the contract states that I must be flexible, and that the stated keyholder for the day decides when we finish. The rotas for the week already have me doing overtime, which is fine by me, but, I dont want to go into work, not knowing when I'll finish. As it stands Im contracted to work 4 hours a day. Im doing 6, now my manager says I must stay until Im told I can go-that means working up to 11 hours a day

You can't be forced to work excessive overtime (over 48 hours a week) in the long term.

    Some reading for you :)
