Matamp Prices HIKED!!!

A part of me has died as I discovered through a friend that Matamp Prices have been hiked considerably. I saw beforehand that the website said "25th of August" and displayed an updated version of one of their amps saying "Series 2000", but I had no idea this would involve gigantic price hikes, I thought it'd be a website update. www.matamp.co.uk

I was on the verge of purchasing one, but now it's just beyond what I'd pay for an amp. I was to buy a GTL, which itself is now €400 dearer than when I rang them up two weeks ago, they never once mentioned the price hikes or the changes in the design, I even said "I'll be ordering within the month". I mean they helped me decide which one suited my needs and now they have a whole new range, which, while it's a good thing, means that them suggesting a model was pointless, they now have 4 times the amount of amps and now have combo models which beforehand they advised customers against requesting.

As my friend said, at this stage, these amps are for professionals or those who wish to spoil themselves and have all the guitars they want. So much for an amp for life. :(

If they have a series of new models out, would you not try to bag one of the now "older" models at a good price???? Its worth trying!

I might try, they'd probably still be very costly and I was looking for a few very specific yet necessary extras, it's just annoying, I normally go second hand in things and this is one time where I thought the "first hand" prices were reasonable, not meant to be I suppose, for now.

Apparantly the prices of some of the components rose and they have to rise the prices resectively. Plus, they actually WERE underpriced. Nevertheless it is still incredibly annoying. THey still offere a 1224 MKII combo for 1700 euro, so that isa ctually still in the running. Pile of annoyance though,

Oh and you cannot buy the "old" models as they make each one to order. There is never any stock, for want of a better word.

    Thought you may be interested.
