Whatever program you use make sure that you use the LAME encoder. best setting is "alt preset standard". ~225kbps and fairly perfect quality

The new Windows Media Player 10, can convert any cd's or files too mp3. It is supposed to only be downloadable to/for use with XP, but I downloaded it, no problem, and am stunned at the number of new features it has ;)

Hit a snag with Media Player, it needs a CD to rip the tracks from, and they're actually on my hard drive. Anyone know how I can use Media Player to convert feils on my hard drive or if it's not possible, some other tool that I can download? Cheers.

dBPowerAmp does WMA to MP3 too.

You only need to register the lame encoder dealie, I was able to find a way around doing that easyily enough on the net though.

Take what ye want, give nothin' back!
