    He says he wrote a letter of apology to the woman when he found out she was offended.
    That was a mistake. Pretty much admitting he was in the wrong there. He should have sent her a picture of herself and some famous person with the labels "You (fat)" and "Jennifer Anniston (not fat)" to get the point home.

    People like that should be allowed to die of their stupidity.

    Seriously, did he say "You're obese" or "You're a fat bitch"? I can see how the latter is offensive, but the former is a valid medical term. Exactly the same as "You have leukaemia" (sp?) is an accurate medical description, whereas "Jaysus missus, yer lungs are ****ed" could be offensive.
