ok, so while playing world of warcraft today, the game freezes, crashes to the desktop and i get this

    http://members.boards.ie/kiith/Error1.jpg

now it only happened once, i went back to playing, and everything seemed fine.

but i started playing again tonight, and it happened again, and again, and again, and then i got this

    http://members.boards.ie/kiith/Error2.jpg

i can only assume its my graphics card, which had to be replaced last year as well, due to problems with it. anyone have any suggestions to what it might be, or should i just ask for recommendations for a new graphics card :(

its an ati 9800 pro, if that makes any difference

I had the very same issues with my old Radeon 9200 (replaced it with a 9600 last month). If it says the card has stopped responding to instructions, it's usually becuase the settings you had for the game were maybe slightly too much for the onboard video RAM (i.e. a work backlog built up and inevitably crashed). I doubt your card is actullay phukked, this crap usually appears because of the driver the card has installed. I know it's an old and cheesey thing to say, but get the latest ATI Catalyst driver from the ATI site and see how you go (that solved my 9200 problem when it was doing this a year ago repetitively)

Try just disabling VPU recovery by going to Proerties>Settings>advanced>VPU Recovery and then disable it there and should stop them error's hopefuly. The Video card is fine its just a general rendering error IIRC.

I recieved SImilar error's like this on my9800Pro on san andreas. 9800Pro is fine, not a video card problem i am 99% sure ;)

ok, i reinstalled the latest drivers, and tried lowering the graphic details a bit, and it seemed to be working ok, but then it happened again. also, when i disabled the vpu recovery, the computer just froze when the error occured, rather then just crashing to the desktop. im befudled now :(

Update your motherboard chipset drivers, BIOS, Sound Drivers, and any firmware suggested on the motherboard manufacturers website.

Also any other drivers required, you will have to go to your motherboard manufacturers website and download the ones for the model you have.

This is just to ensure that everything is running optimally.

what's your mobo? my old cheapass mobo had the same problem, i think it was an sis board. I just lowered the AGP rate to x4 and it fixed it.

Could be drivers, but could also be a power issue - what's your PSU rating?

I recently upgraded from a 9200SE to a 9700Pro and kept getting your error #01 myself. I trawled the Forum and Google'd the problem, then -bingo-! had a look under the hood noted my PSU was 250W  = changed the PSU to 400W and no problem since. :)
