    Hi

Wondering which is best, Two weeks in Maui, Hawaii or Two weeks divided between Dubai and Hong kong. Myself and my Husband have different opinoins and are now wanting to decide which holiday to book.

Helpfully, I have never been to Hawaii or Dubai, but I loved Hong Kong. It's a fantastic mega-city. Well worth a visit as long as you can afford to treat yourself well.

If I had the choice of seeing two places instead of one, I'd go for two. Can't speak for you guys. But if you like wealthy exotic cities with glittering skyscrapers, go to HK and Dubai. If you like hanging around on beaches, go to Hawaii!

    Hi,

Never been to Maui, so I can't really comment there. I've been to most parts of the world and Hong Kong is still my favourite city although it's run close by Bangkok, Vegas, Melbourne and Dubai. A Dubai - Hong Kong combo is a great idea.

Dubai is the best place I have been with regards to service. First time I went there (1998) I stayed at the Jumeirah beach hotel, the second time (last month) we stayed at Le Meridien Dubai. Both hotels were excellent.

I believe that Dubai is not as good for shopping as it once was. I tried to buy a PSP there and they were looking fo 1100 AED which is pretty much the same price it will be in the UK. The gold souk is meant to be great for buying jewellery, I had a look around but I am completely clueless about this stuff. The biggest shopping centre is Deira city centre. We went to jumeirah beach for a day, there is a hell of a lot of building work going on there but tbh it did not bother any of us but I would recommend staying at a hotel in the city and visiting the beach. Taxis are dirt cheap, food in the arabic restaraunts and cafes is dirt cheap. I was paying about £4 sterling for a beer and food in the hotels is reasonably expensive but excellent quality.

As I said earlier, Hong Kong is my favourite city. I was there in May 2004 and Jan 2005 enroute to Sydney. First time I stayed in the excelsior on causeway way on the island, The hotel was excellent and located in tourist central of Hong Kong, The second time I stayed at the Eaton Hotel on Nathan Road in Kowloon, this was not as good a quality hotel as the excelsior but I preferred being in Kowloon as I like shopping in Sham Shui Po and Mongkok. There is tons to do in Hong Kong, the place is pure hustle and bustle but some of my tips are - When you get to Chep lap Kok but an Octopus card straight and get the airport express to Kowloon or Central. If I remember correctly the is K1....etc buses from Kowloon station and H1....etc buses from Hong Kong station that will take you to all the local hotels. I would recommend hopping on to the MTR as traffic in Hong Kong is a nightmare and taking it to your hotel. For things to do in Honk Kong try the Star Ferry, Victoria Peak, Sham Shui Po markets, the night markets just to name a few. The food is great and the women are so beautiful. Great place.
