anyone heard of any beer offers in local supermarkets (Tesco, Dunnes, LIDL, etc.) or offies this week? I'm not fussy which type of beer. Hosting a BBQ this weekend and want to reduce being ripped off to a minimum..
    many thanks

The beer in the red cases (can't remember the name) from Lidl is lovely. 12 euro for 24. The cheaper stuff (10 euro) in the blue pack isn't as good, but might be fine for a BBQ.

Depends how much you like your guests. :)

beer de ord, (or similar spelling :) ),is almost always the cheapest in tesco, regardless of offers. works out at about 80c/l. it don't get much cheaper than that.

    it comes in 250ml bottles

I think it is d'or which I think is french for golden beer. I love it, it is only 4% but those tiny bottles are great, just throw them back.

I get it cheap a lot of the time, if people open packs of stuff in my tescos they sell it off cheap. I think it is because it is not supposed to be sold singly so the computer will not know the barcode. They only charge 25c each, I have got about 350 this year at that price.

Sweenys in Glasnevin are doing Labatts Ice for 1 Euro a bottle and its a lovely beer. My current favourite in fact. So thats a case of 24 for 24 basically

would second labatts ice, and also recommend rolling rock, can be found for a euro in most places and i think its €18.99 for 24 in tescos

I dont think rolling rock is that cheap in tescos, maybe 22 for 24 or 18 for 20. There are lots of 20 bottle crates these days.

O'Brienns have the excellent warsteiner for €1 at the moment. grolsch the same

    tuborg 6 cans for 7 euros.not bad

Have to recommend Rolling Rock, this stuff got me from cider onto beer... The small red bottles in Lidl aren't bad, the small blue bottles are only 3% (hence the reduction in price) I learnt this the long sober night way!

i was pretty sure i saw the rolling rock 24 for €18.99 in tescos in limerick last week as I pointed it out to a friend but I could be wrong. I do know (for sure) i bought 24 for that price there 2 or 3 months ago.

You can get 24 Miller in my local SPAR for 23.99 euro.

12.99 STG at present is work 19.05 EUR.

Not a major saving to be honest.

The miller from the north is stronger and €5 is a saving, what do you expect it to be half price ;)

Also in Newry, at the five ways petrol station (across the road from the B&Q entrance) they have a special on Carlsberg Export - £9.99 for 20 330ml bottles
    It's beautiful stuff & 5%

any 500ml cans you can buy for less than 1.52euro are better value than the 24 bottles for 24 euro stuff. not always as nice though!
