You should really post up a clear menu of what you eat every day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) and quantify exactly how much exercise you get every week (time, type), how much booze you drink etc... and the wonderful people here can get to work helping you!

cheers but u see it varies as i what i eat and exercise,

    today drove to work ok
had 6 chicken goujons and lettuce 2 slices of cheese and bit of coleslaw and brown bread 2 slices

excercise might go out for 1 hour cycle

"No jokers please" sorry but if you want help you must post up exactly what you do and take the time to do it.

This is free advice from people who care about fitness so sit yourself down and do it properly as others on the site have done

"might" is not a definitive - yes i did this or no i did not is a certainty

Post it for real or not at all - no offence just sick of general mails looking for general advice that has been given 100000's of times already or things people must do i.e. eat less and exercise more

Well what Ive started doing is making a journal of what I eat during the day and Im able to calculate calories consumed. Sometimes its easier when the nutritional value is on the box but its difficult to, say, know what the nutritional value is of the lasagne your getting at the canteen in lunch so Id do a little research and guesstimate.

My goals are different to yours. Im not looking to lose weight, but it has opened my eyes a little to what I eat. Y'know where the carbs, fats, and proteins are.
Funnily enough coleslaw has got a lot of fat %wise compared to the carbs and proteins in it. Saying that not all fats are bad as Ive read.

To be honest IMO theres no real quickfire solutions to losing weight. I sound like a shrink but if your mind isnt prepared to do it then you'll probably fail at what your attempting to do.

im 25 this year im 6.2 in height and weight 115 kg (18 stone)
first things first - your gonna have to get serious- http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/healthy_living/your_weight/bmiimperial_index.shtml
had 6 chicken goujons and lettuce 2 slices of cheese and bit of coleslaw and brown bread 2 slices
deep fried breaded chicken , with coleslaw and cheese is a heart-attack lunch imo.

It's no harm eating it as long as you dont delude yourself that its part of a fitness, weightlosing regime. Microwave dinners are muck. They are actually meant to be your main meal in the day not a second meal. Theres about 2 spoons of curry in a box. they taste muck and dont fill you up. for the same(little more) calories u could prob have salad, soup, fish, veg and a yogurt afterwards. all reduced calorie stuff of course.

also imo walking the dog is ok if your yrs old 90 and trying to keep fit. At 25 it doesnt count towards exercise cos you prob never get your heart rate going. unless your pushing it of course

also cycling to work 3 days one week an once the next is no good. to get fit lose weight you need routine. IMO cycle to work as an extra part of your regime not the sole par cos you dont do it every morning religiously. Monday, wednesday, friday, sunday you need to be doing proper training for 1 hr a day. push ups, sit ups followed a 30 min jog/fast walk to start. maybe swim once a week to break it up for you but again IMO I think swimming is not as effective so you can delude yourself that your getting fit when your only maintain par for the course.

    dont eat after 6-7 either.

if you going on the beer for the weekend or eating out you need to train that off in addition to the above. If you eat chicken gougons and cheese you need to cycle to work some day in addition to the above.

see what i mean. The above is written in stone. overeating and boozing requires extra training or a lean food day.

I had terrible trouble losing weight too. But I wasn't eating right either. I tried many diets and exercising. But still gained the weight.

I decided to take things into my own hands and put the books back on the shelf. What I do now is have 6 small meals daily. Starting off with a bowl of cereal in the morning with a piece of fruit. Then for the next 2 meals I will only eat fruit and veg, small portions around 10 and half 12. Then I wait till dinner time and cook some healthy food like brown rice and veg with white meat one day and red meat the next day. The days i ate white meat i weight trained, and the days i ate red meat I worked out in cardio. And where I used to have 2 pork chops for dinner i had 1 and doubled the portions of veg. In a month i went from 13.5 stone to 12.5 stone and I am holding that weight now.

Everytime I get hungry I don't have chocolate or crisps or any junk food. I just pick up an apple and a yoghurt and fill that hole.

I exercise regularly and I took up swimming to help lose weight. I started off only being able to do 2 lengths and this sunday i did 40 in only 2 months of training.

For me it really paid off.

it depends do you exercise? you would be better eating 6 or so small low fat meals throughout the day instead of 2-3 big meals in the day! that way your body will be digesting food all day slowly and effectively instead of dumping loads of food on it all at once so some of it gets stored as fat!
vegs arent the only way to lose weight! i dont eat them at all cept for carrots aswel! and i had a bodyfat lozwer then 10% bout a month ago(i went away and ate like a pig so its gone now but im getting it back slowly)
if you are going to get alot of carbs make sure they are complex ones instead of simple! also eat the protein first oin your meals as it takes 4 times longer to digest! and unlike carbs which are digested 30% in the mouth they are solely(i think) digested in the mouth!

I am not too fond of vegetables either, but I just spice them up with chilli, garlic, curry powder etc. I eat brown bread sandwiches with low fat filling like ham or chicken. I gave up the chippers, yet end up in one about once a month after drinking. I still have the odd monster feed after a night on the piss, but it is beans, peas, sweetcorn, potatoes etc, rather than a 2000-2500kcal chinese. I cycle everywhere. What is the point in driving to work and then going out later to cycle. The way the traffic is now I save about 30mins by cycling to work than in the car, about 60-90mins saved than getting a bus. So I have way more spare time. Your spare time is spent doing something you could have done earlier minus the petrol and stress of sitting in traffic.
I walk to the pub and walk home. I have not cut down on my drunkeness levels but since I weigh less and eat less, I only have to drink about 1/2-2/3 the amounts I used to.
I eat protein shakes at breakfast which I find are good appetite suppresants. I never go really hungry, but I only eat when hungry, and stop eating when I am no longer hungry.

Chicken "goujons" are generally re-constituted chicken, deep fried - they are not healthy. Similarly, if you eat supermarket coleslaw thinking it's a healthy "salad", you're fooling yourself - it's full of mayonaise - very fattening.

Better off grilling some real chicken breasts (marinade (soak) them in something to make them more interesting if you like - eg soy sauce and lemon juice with chilli powder or some "cajun spice mix" or something) and make your own coleslaw by shredding some cabbage and mixing in a low fat honey and mustard dressing or low fat mayo. Pile it onto a crispy baked potato. mmmmm making myself hungry now.

Alternatives to the chicken - good steak, fresh tuna, turkey breast fillets, salmon cutlets/darnes. Lots of stuff like that. Healthy food doesn't have to taste like crap.

    best of luck.
