Has anyone had experience of this using a Mac. I'm in the process of setting up this facility with Ulster Bank but their literature says the Mac isn't supported but IE5 and windows 98 is !!

I recently helped a customer set up banking on line with AIB and it worked with Java VM version 1.4.2. on XP. Ulster bank say their system requires the "latest" version of VM, is this why it won't work on Mac ?

Any thoughts or has anyone managed to actually get it working on a Mac with OS X Tiger ?

This site provides some info on the matter but has anyone here actually got it working with say Firefox or Safari without any alterations to their browser.

I would be surprised if any serious site didn't at least support Firefox these days, which runs just fine in MacOS X.

We can make Safari to use a different agent and behave as a different browser by adding the debug menu:
    Close Safari completly
Open a terminal window and type:
    defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
    Close terminal
Open Safari and you'll see a new menu called Debug, in there you'll find Agent, you can now change it to Mozilla, Windows...

The problem with ulster bank is a little app that runs only in windows machines, the solution: VirtualPC.
