Ok, I have the xbox, the mod chip (a solderless Xenium SP ICE) and a nice big hard drive. I've searched for a guide that describes how to install my specific mod chip and then how to install XBMC but I can't find one on any of the main site (xbox scene etc).

I've read a bit about something called Slayers Evox which is supposed to be required to swap a HDD easily. But is this still the best thing to get? Do I need it?

    Any help appreciated!

youll have to install a new bios into your chip. you can get the bios from varios irc locations. just check the guide on xbox-scene.com. (also x-b-o-x.com its the best one) try and get a evox bios like m7 that will have a dashboard built in. evox3935. flash the bios using the xenium OS. either put in on a dvd-r or through ftp.

once you have a dashboard installed you can do pretty much anything.

you dont need to use slayers to add the bigger hd. the xenium OS has a function to swap the disks. you just plug the hd into the xbox where the cd drive is supposed to go. then run the auto swapper and put the new hd where the old one was. check the guides on teamxodus.com.

this isnt the best guide for you, just something rough to get you started. youll pick everything up pretty quickly. forums.xbox-scene.com is invaluable. go to the newbie section and the teamxodus section.

    happy modding!
