    HI.
I have the problem detailed in the following link: http://tinyurl.com/9klow

Now I have tried the first two solutions which did not work, so I am down to the 3rd option.
Does anyone know if this will work and where I could purchase an Ultra ATA PCI adapter card?

If you could suggest any other solutions that would be great.

The hard drive I have is the Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200GB SATA and the mobo is EPoX EP-9NPA+ if that helps.

In a side question does anyone know when NTL Broadband will be available in Ardkeen Village?

that mobo already has 48-bit lba, so getting the adapter card wouldn't make a difference, i think you should try the first two solutions again

it would help if we knew what operating system and service pack you're running, if it's xp then the big drive enabler should work so try it again http://www.maxtor.com/portal/site/Maxtor/menuitem.3c67e325e0a6b1f6294198b091346068/?channelpath=%2Fen_us%2FSupport%2FSoftware%20Downloads%2FATA%20Hard%20Drives&downloadID=11 (and make sure you're in an administrator account)

I have xp sp2 and I have tried the above solution, which should not be necessary with sp 1 and above, but it did not work.

Why not have a look at your chipset/motherboard drivers. If they are the default XP one's you might have issues. Update to the manufactors latest version and see if that helps.

If I'm thinking correctly tonight, you could partition the drive in to smaller chunks.

Do you know if Maxblast 4 reformats the drive?

    i'd say so, but..

"The copy feature lets you make an exact duplicate of your existing hard drive."

now whether thats copied onto another harddrive or what i don't know
