I think Jim who is organising this is going to post here but anyway, just to let anyone who is interested know:

the game is meant to kick off at 7pm in the Wicked Wolf pub in Blackrock.
I'm bringing along three books as spot prizes, Harringtons first volume, Tournament poker by Cloutier and Poker for Dummies. Also there will be three cheap books for the lads who said they would turn up from here.

I think there are also poker chips to win.

I don't think it will go on too late so if ur in the area and want to spend a tenner come along.

    cheers, des.

(anybody got a loan of a tenner?)

I was wondering who was playing there. Got some playing cards and shirts from the Fitz plus some other freebies so hopefully everybody will get something for their tenner. apart from the thrill of playing against me of course! c u there, be sure to say ur boards name to me.

Final call for anyone who wants to learn how to play poker for a tenner. And all proceeds go to the charity of the winner's choice. thats a certainty.
free books, cards, chips, t-shirts and maybe a special prize or two courtesy of the Fitz.
so leave the house now and turn up at the Wicked wolf for around 7pm tonight.
    c u there,

ok, that went pretty well. Everybody got pressies, with a mate of mine and James, the organiser, winning tickets to a poker school soon to be run in the Fitz! Thanks Ken for that and for cards and t-shirts!

We raised over three hundred for 2 different charities, the make a wish foundation and a help the blind charity.

thanks also to Hodges figgis for supplying some books and to James and me for supplying the chips and other books.

    unfortunately.....

I managed to crash my car into the back of a taxi on the way there in a thunderstorm. And there was a cop in the back seat of it! Which may actually work to my advantage as the taxi was only scratched. But my old car is a write off and I'm really pissed off about it. My old reliable car.

So, anyway. well done to those who turned up and thats our charity duties done for the month.
now i have to grind for a hundred hours to pay for my old jalopy.
    ho hum.

    Hey

Just a quick note to thank all those that turned up. I for one had a fantastic time (funny that given I won ;)) but I know that the rest of the lads had the best night of poker yet.

Roundtower and Doc dealt up an absolute storm and really made the night. There was an embarressment of riches when it came to prizes - mostly due to Doc.

    Overall the feedback was as follows;

    1) Get a main sponsor on a regular basis
    2) Get more chicks in.
    3) Build numbers

Overall I think it was great but if anyone has any suggestions on how things went - feel free to pitch in.
