Does anyone know where to get those white ceiling tiles they use in offices?

I don't know anything about them, what they are called, what they are made of , how they are sold etc. etc.

We have a few water damaged ones in our offices that I want to replace.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi Prospect,

I saw them in either B&Q or Atlantic homecare last week - can't remember which. Give them a call and check it out

    Hi,

A lot of the ceiling tiles for commercial use are 600 x 600 mm there are a lot of different types but I think one of the most popular is manufactured by "Armstrong".

Any time I need them I buy from CCF Branigan Ltd, Clondalkin, Tel 457 3544.

I am fairly sure I have a box of those tiles in stock if you are near the Dunboyne area.

    Thanks rooferPete.
I am near Clondalkin, and they are for the job, so I'll try CCF Branigan.
    Cheeers for the offer.

    Question:
If I cut it to the size of the metal frame, how do I recess the strip around the perimeter that allows the tile sit amost 5mm below the frame?

    Hi prospect,

I would take out a tile, they are usually very simple to remove by lifting the tile off the track and sliding it forward then at an angle just take care there may be insulation or wires above it.

The recess is usually in the tile so bring the sample tile with you to Branigans, if they don't stock it they usually know who does.

FYI, the ceiling type is called a suspended ceiling - you'll probably find that there are loads of contractors listed in the Golden Pages. I wouldn't necessarily get them in to do a small job, just could be handy to know if you ever need a bigger job done.
