Not sure if this has been posted before !!

    http://www.pplive.com/

install their software, right click on the icon in the system tray to connect.

It took about 5 minutes for the connection to stabilise, but when it does, it's rock solid, 440k/s. Helps if you stop any downloads you have going too.

Watched Spurs-Pompey on opening day of the EPL, worked a treat.

I use it as well but the commentary is in chinese which is actually better than skys. :D

It works great, if you don't mind chinese commentary. Has saturday 3pm games as well as sky sports and pplus live games...

One thing you should do, once you start it up, right click on the icon in your system tray and click the third option from the bottom. This changes the interface language to English. Then just choose football and you're away!

Does anyone know if this would work through a firewall that already prevents peer 2 peer programs like kazza and bear share? DCU for example?

Try and see. In my experience, stuff like this would not work in UCD, so no is the most likely answer. :(

It's great, I've watched both Spurs game from start to finish using this, and apart from the commentary it's the business. I should hopefully be able to watch the game tomorrow night too. Good quality and no stuttering.

Its very good. Better quality than CoolStreaming for the most part, and has always been great for me.

    Thumbs up! :D

Yeah, the one plus point that Coolstreaming does have is that it has English commentary, but it always buffered a bit too much for me

If you have a connection that can handle it, you could always stream some English radio commentary at the same time. Syncing them up is the tricky part.

I've yet to get a P2P program that is watchable on my connection. I have Esat BT with an upload of 128k. Download speed is more than enough. Coolstreaming was a nightmare. It would fck up my connection and I had to restart the PC so the connection would work again. I tried PPlive last night. I connected to the channel with the most viewers (2,800) and while it got to 100% buffer on the program, it still kept buffering in WM player.

Has anybody else had problems where the video plays but appears like your looking at something through a radar or infra-red scanner? It's as if all the colours have been inverted.

Sorry about this stupid question but I am a wee bit new to this.

Is it safe to install the software etc in relation to viruses etc and what about the download quota of 10Gb/month

you can counter the chinese commentry, just go to five live on the bbc website or any other website with english commentry. All you have to do is pause the commentry to the point of the match in pplive. Works a treat.

that doesn't work. the bbc website doesn't carry the 5live match commentary, it shuts down the stream while it's on for contractual reasons
