$100 for 250 gig western digital hard drives on ebay a few weeks back.
Got me 2 of them. And free shipping.
(thats €81 each, for a bigger hard drive. Also, WD are the best hdd manafacturers.)

€365 is an absolutely ridiculous price for a 200 gig hard drive. IIRC they didnt even cost that when they first came out. You sure of that price?

    morale: shop around.

Data cable for a Nokia phone. €1.80 (plus p&p) on eBay. €59.99 in Carphone Warehouse. I somehow doubt they sell many at that price.

Cremo: thats a good deal; those LPs are pretty rare, so I hear.

Zaph: aye, most electronics and comms aftermarket parts and accesscories are ridiculously overpriced. I always go with the generic chinese (but still perfect) aftermarket parts on ebay.
eg: new battery for sony camera:
    €120 in the sony centre
€15 for a taiwanese copy on ebay.
The cheaper one is just as good as the official one, abeit not approved by sony.

It depends, on some items you do lose out on quality (batteries are one of these, a lot of the non branded ones aren't great, some are though. You need to try it and see really). Then again, for most things, while there is a drop in quality, most people won't notice and/or care.

A battery that only has a life of 18 months versus a branded one's 24 isn't really an issue if you upgrade your phone every year for example.

aye. I buy all my replacement batteries from one of the top 10 ebay sellers.
He sells thousands of these every week, owns a factory in the east and thats all they do. Make knock off batteries of popular ones.

Good point about people upgrading their phones.
