My powerbook should be arriving in the next couple of weeks.
Im very excited about it. I have to wait four weeks cause I want a gig of RAM so they said it has to be made in Asia and sent over.
Does it always take so long?

Also, and this may be a stupid question, y'know when you get a new mobile you have to charge it up for so long and then leave the battery run down.
Is it the same with a laptop?

yeah laptops ordered online are shipped from asia, i'd opt for getting ram from a 3rd party (e.g. Crucial) and slot it in myself later saving build times and cash

as for the battery, yeah fully charge it the first time, the documentation will outline the steps to calibrate it as soon as possible (and then every few months):

Can't remember. Maybe a hundred or so. I just bought it off the Apple store, so whatever their price is!

Just got a call today to say the laptop's ready. So it must only take 2 weeks to get from Asia!

Anyone know, whether the laptop can be on when I'm giving it it's first charge. I know a mobile phone has to be off. Is it the same?
    Im dying to use it!

Might not the right place to tell, but just in case, I have an original Apple (Samsung) memory, 512mb, PC2700, taking off my Powerbook 12", it's in the FS board for e70.

Yeah, you can have your PowerBook on when it's getting its first charge. Use it away. Follow Apple's calibration procedure here:
