Typical case of the power mad nightclub personnel that just over react with any given chance...

Ah sure leave them alone, they get their €7.65 an hour and all the power that goes alone with it

Ring the manager monday morning, tell him the disgraceful way you were treated.U want an apology and the price of your ticket refunded or your going to report them to the director of consumer affairs(do it anyway, that's a blatent rip off,as bad as putting one price outside the pub and charging a different price inside).Or do what most irish people do,nothing !.

    Good advice, that will work

    Ring up and complain. There's not a whole lot you can do unless a few of you make the same complaint to the relevant authority. If you try and follow it up yourself it'll go like this;

    1. You complain that they forced you to pay in at 23.40 (by your watch).
    2. You provide evidence of a receipt, time stamped at 00.20.
    3. They tell the authority that you were hammered, and caused a scene when you complained.
    4. You admit that you'd had a few drinks, but weren't hammered, and were understandably irate when the issue arised.
    5. Your case gets thrown out.

Tramco is a shithole anyway. Vote with your feet.

management are probably the one who are doing this so don't bother
    trying to complain to them.

government bodies are totally powerless + you have no evidence

your only way would be to send eddie hobbs and his team in
    undercover

Don't bother going there again. The only way to make it hurt is as people say is vote with your feet. Anytime mates suggest going there try to convince them otherwise. If thats how they treat a patron, hardly worth waisting your time with them.

looks like ill avoid the place then :)

As far as your mates are concerned, you're barred from there for life. ;) That way they won't even consider going there in your company. Like the rest say, vote with your feet and your wallet. Don't give them another penny of your money and slander them as much as possible to people that might consider going there. Make up some rubbish like you got a hiding off the doormen and the place is really dangerous. Be aggressive. Be malicious. I would. ;)

I never really liked the place (not been there in like 3 years), but after hearing this story, don't reckon I will be back here anytime soon (never would be more accuarate).

Em. Probably *not* the best idea. You can indeed be sued for slander, regardless of how unlikely it is that someone will find out you said it. Just tell people the actual truth, and they'll avoid it anyway. It's a creche for rugby schools.

Bouncers get a *lot* more than 7.65 an hour.
Tramco changed at some point in the last number of years. It used to be "where the tramps go" and generally had quite a young crowd. I went there once about a year ago and the door staff had become a lot more discerning and they were obviously aiming for a different section of the market.

the whole place is just full of like 17-19 year old people lately! but as for someone said its full of rugby school pp well im a rugby school lad and that was my first time there! i never even made it inside! but i only know 2 other people from school who have been der! but like i was watching people go in and there was literally a 4 girl to every1 guy ratio! and most of them were like 16 or 17!! just feel like shouting at the bouncers "dosent matter how many young girls yous all let in at the end of the night you are going to end up going home on your own you big ulgy f**k" because the stares they were giving the girls even as they were going in! like that was why it was only fellas getting refused! they let my mate go in ahead of me without paying!(girl) yet im ment to pay because they want to rip me off and im a fella they asked no girls to pay but asked the fellas to pay!

maybe it was ladies free before 12 o'clock?

read the fine print, and theres no need to use exclamation marks at the end of every sentence either.

Well the time I went last year they were turning away nice-looking girls because they were under 21 (19 or 20 I think). Turned away more people than they let in really and the place was not full at all - easy enough to get seats even. Didn't notice an unusal boy : girl ratio myself, although there might have been. I was rather distracted that night. This was a year ago mind. [Five years ago anyone would get in and the place was crammed.]

    that's annoying!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,151 ✭✭✭beanyb

I'm 19 and used to go there when I was 16 or so and never had any trouble getting in. Then they did it up and when they re-opened they changed it to over 21's only. They wouldnt let ANYBODY in that was under 21. So I was 18 and couldnt get in to a place I got in when I was under-age.

But about 3 or 4 months ago they got rid of the over 21 thing, and now it's full of 16 year olds again.

i hate places that do that over 21 crap, were not fcking americian.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,284 ✭✭✭pwd

I think it's sensible. People go to clubs to meet potential sex partners. [Not the only reason to go but probably the most popular]. An over-21s rule just eliminates people who are too young for the target market.

Unless it's clearly posted outside the premises that it's over 21's, then it is illegal to refuse entry to anyone over 18.

I didnt see a over 21's sign in the palace in navan where my cousins birthday party was, and i was refused, i had no choice but to go and get a taxi back to the house.

they even let in 17 yr old who were having a fight in the line.
    ****.

Like I said, if you're over 18 and you have valid ID then you can't be refused on the grounds that the establishment is for over 21's only. If there isn't a sign in clear view that says that the establishment is over 21's, then you are perfectly within your rights to sue under the Equal Status Act. And, despite what people tell you, you'll probably win.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,284 ✭✭✭pwd

Jesus I could be rich by now if I sued every place that refused me when I was 22. Was weird I got refused all over the place at that time - seldom did before and never seem to since.

The apathy on this forum is astonishing! The "dont bother complaining, it'll make no difference" attitude is rediculous. People constantly complain about being ripped off, but dont even try to do anything about it. Just sit back, relax, and let people rip you off. That's the way to do it. When I get ripped off (so sad it's when and not if) I give the ba5tards a right earful, and report to whatever relevant authotities. And yes it does yield positive results.
If tramco do this regularly, and everybody reported it, it's no longer your solitary drunken word against theirs. It's a number of ripped off people against the management. If more than two people report it, it will be noticed.
    Go. Testify!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,893 ✭✭✭The_B_Man

I propose we get a new forum where we post up places such as tramco that refused us or ripped us off or whatever so we can organise a mass boycott of these places.

We could have rules like if you post a place, the "committee" decides whther or not its worth a boycott and if you post a place that gets boycotted, u must boycott every other place that gets blacklisted as payment for gettin ur place of choice boycotted!

problem is gettin ppl to do stuff in the real world that they saw on the internet! ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,105 ✭✭✭larryone

Not a bad idea I suppose... There is a forum called "rip off ireland" or something, but a boycott forum is an interesting idea.

Never even been to tramco. Avoidance will be easy =0)
