Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm just wondering could a Dutchman and German talk using their own languages respectively, because they are remarkably similar?

From what I hear, they're fairly different and non-mutually comprehensible. I've also heard that Scandinavians can understand each other speaking their respective languages. I imagine it's a bit like Irish and Scots Gael, they're very similar, but just different enough to be different languages.

    The answer is indeed no.

Knowing Dutch certainly made learning german easier for me but people from each country wouldn't be able to understand eachother.
