Does nothing for me I'm afraid.

Its the one jazz bass i've always loved. It showed up in the u-box and I jumped on the wagon :) I need a good bass to add to the collection and to help out with recording projects. A rickenbacker is the other bass I'd love...

I love the sound of Jazz basses but that one in particular just doesn't so it for me.

Which one would you go for chief?

I dig the natural finish. But I've never been a fan of maple fretboards. I love the block inlays on the 75's. My biggest seller on the jazz bass to me is they can be used on any style of music. There capable of a huge range of tone. Which comes in handy when recording :)

I've love a nice black and white rickebacker or possibly a natural finised one. But this will be a start no doubt...

Block inlays only look good on LP's imo. Dot's on Fenders, no inlays on other guitars.

The one you put the picture up of is the same as my one only in a different finish and it has block inlays too...

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Bejaysus, so it does. Thought it had pearliod dots. It's late. And I'm sober. That's what's wrong... yes...

:p its ok you can't resist the lure of the block inlays. I must say those Natural finsihed 75's are nicer with a better pic. You can get the black ones for it aswell and thats also really nice...

Aye. The missus has a couple of Fender basses lying around. Fretless Jazz/P (I think) and a P-bass. Rather nice but the P-Bass needs a complete refinish.

I've played the docs japanese 62 fretless and its amazing. If mines even a 1/4 as good as his was I'll be happy. I hope to have it by the end of next week all going to plan....

Netx step for me is probably a Jackson Rhoads. :) Very nice bass though dabhoys. I prefer the natural finish but that's lovely as well. I have to agree with fey on the block inlays though...

    Nice one - congrats dabhoys!

Just make sure you lock your doors, coz you know the Doc is lurking.

The Doc already has more than his fair share! But then again, who can resist high quality musical instruments?

Fair share? What are you talking about? I don't have one of those basses, what's fair about that? ;)

Heh. You're hardly short of quality instruments anyway Doc, thoug I'm not doing badly myself on that fornt I must say. Quality amplification on the other hand...

My man Koichi has informed me that my bass was shipped and is on its merry way around the globe to myself :) I'll keep ya's posted.

I must say dealing with these guys has been great. Extremely professional and nice people. I much prefer to give them my money for a fine instrument.

    Gotta love the japanese....

    Yes. Repeatedly.

...erm, yeah. Well, this certainly inspires confidence, as I hope to get that Tokai Les Paul off them before the year is out.:D
