Hey there,
As I have already stated I am going to be idle up until Monday 22nd August / Tuesday 23rd August. I then have a month off before I head back to college, and just around a month *before* the jump season starts. I will probably do this system when the jump season starts, but I want to give it a go on the flat season before it ends.

I will start off with 100 points in my bank, each day I will post my selections which are relevant to my system, along with how much I am betting on them. If noting fits the criteria then I obviously won't post anything so I may go a couple of days without having any horses to post - but I will let you know that nothing meets the criteria - I won't just not post...

I hope to atleast last a week before going bust

So please don't reply to this thread until it has been kick started next week. And if you have any tips / selections of your own, please post them in your own thread, I really only want to keep this thread for my selections relevant to this system.

After today's racing my balance is 105.41

Not too bad a start, lets hope I can keep it going...


Just to remind everyone this is just a little system that I have worked on the last few weeks, and I'm just seeing how well (or bad) it works, that's why there are no reasons for my selections, as the selections are simply the results of this system that I have come up with.

i realise you've been posting here for a while now, and have given some pretty useful tips, but why not keep it that way?

First of all, I am still going to post my 'selections' in other threads which are not relevant to this system. Just because I am doing this, does not mean I am not going to post as normal on here.

Secondly, you are right, the usual spammers could claim that they are using a 'system' as their reason for posting random selections with no reasons behind them.

It's not that I don't have much faith in this system, I actually do have quite alot of faith in it, *that* is why I am posting it publicly. I gave it the thread heading because, as has been my experience, murphy's law often prevails and if I gave it a heading of "sjones' guaranteed profit making system' well then I'd attract the wrong crowd reading this thread, and I'd make myself look like an ass in the meantime.

I am merely posting the results of the system publicly for everyone's benefit. You can take it or leave it. You do have a valid point though, about the spammers... I can't exactly give a reason behind the selections without giving you information on how the system works, which is something I'd rather not do for now.

If people want me to stop doing this, then by all means I will stop posting the results of my 'system' here, and will continue as normal.

So, do you want me to stop? I guess I didn't really think of the effects this thread could have, leading to widespread posting of selections with no details as to why those selections were chosen. If the jury wants this thread demolished, let it be so

it's just that i didn't want this forum to deteriorate into the same condition as other horse racing forums..
at the minute, the horse racing tips and information provided here have been fantastic and i suppose exceptions can and should be made for those who have contributed most, like yourself, masterk and f2b..
by all means, keep posting.. i have no trouble with it whatsoever.. after all, i can just avoid reading it

Yeah I plan to keep it going until I either get bust or until a month passes, whichever comes first. I might not get to post anything tomorrow as I'm working until 4am so I'll be sleeping tomorrow

I'm picking just the UK and Irish meetings, it's all depending on the races to be honest. I checkout the system I've come up with on every race for every meeting on the day, but if I don't like the results I will avoid the race. I usually have around 9 horses for the day, and I pick my favourite 4 or 5 from that list. It's a really straightforward way of doing things to be honest, the majority of the horses will be very short priced, but I will often throw in a long shot every now and again (Sarraaf today came 3rd at 14/1). I am never going to do each way bets, it will always be to win.

I am not doing evening racing either.

There is at least one race a week where everyone knows the winner before the race (Overstrand on Tuesday evening @ Perth), I will consider adding these type of horses into this system as well, placing a way bigger stake than the usual 2 or 3 points I'm currently going with. Today is the first day that I lost money, but it's only day three. If I continue to make a steady profit then the betting stakes will get bigger.

I am actually doing this live with paddy power, so it's not just points I'm playing with, this is real money.

may have only been 1 winner yesterday but luckily I took euro leader for a double with battledress in the following race, which paid off nicely.
I know nothing about racing but place the odd bet for entertainment value during the quiet times at work. your suggestions have helped keep my interest and funding afloat. keep up the good work

Wasn't my tip. Did you not watch the race? It got boxed in and couldn't get through from 2f out. That's exactly what happend to it.

There was a huge gamble on it, from 10s to 5s. You always follow the money so I'm sure you would have picked it anyway.

3/6 today with a return of 30.75, which brings my balance up to 134.81

14 winners from 28 horses so far, an average of a 50% success rate. I was hoping to get that up to about 75% but I don't see that happening in the near future. If I can keep going at 50% I'll be happy.

Trip cancelled due to absolutely terrible weather. You can't play golf in a thunderstorm!

So lets see what we have here.... Racing isn't great yet again, and won't be for a few weeks either. I should probably stop and wait for the jump season to start properly as now is the worst time for racing, but I'll see how it goes first.

Rifleman runs a shocker. Just before the off At The Races said they felt that McCoy was going to hold him up. Not sure what that was about to be honest. Gabor was very unlucky, he got a small bit tired towards the end but you would have felt he had more in him. A very impressive by the 14/1 winner Miss Skippy, who look liked it had alot left.

Uncle Mick ran a great race and was just beaten by a horse who had not won in 20 starts. Uncle Mick had not ran on that sort of ground in a long time, but is used to it. I thought the changing from the firm ground which it has been racing on alot recently to soft ground that it prefers would have been enough, and it nearly was. Sorry lads, a 2nd place there - but very close! Well done to Sutherndown.

I'm not too confident with todays selections so I am not backing them heavily. I will not be at all surprised if TRAVERSE beats LA MOTTA today, I have been looking at the two of them and I am still debating which one to select, but LA MOTTA is down on paper and I won't be changing it.

im just questioning you selection for RUMPLESTILTSKIN surely a 3point gamble on an odds on horse is not worth the gamble!! u will only win 1point on your 3!

Yes fair enough chances are it should win, but surely there are better options!! personaly i dont back at those crazy odds!!

3 points is all I am willing to put on it, I can afford to loose 3 but I can't afford to loose anymore on it. I never take the prices into consideration when selecting these horses wooly. I don't really care what odds they are, the amount I place on them is a representation of my confidence in the horse. I could replace RUMPLESTILLSKIN for something else, but why should I when I think it's going to win? The odds are crap, but the odds don't really matter to this sytem. I'm going for a good strike rate and to stay in profit. Outside of this system, there isn't a chance I would put money on a 3/10 shot, because I would not be willing to place the amount of money needed to get a good return.
