Digital multimeter, EUR 3.99

    Maplin are selling digital multimeters for Eur 3.99. It's probably not suitable for serious electronics tinkerers but if you just need to use one occasionally it should be ok. No short circuit tester unfortunately, but for 3.99 you can't be too fussy...

    Good price, I wouldnt use it for testing a life support machine, but it should do the job for most.
    What do you mean by s/c tester, just continuity? if so you can just use the resistance test, if there are and ohms you have a circuit.

    Yes, I meant a continuity test. It has a resistance tester alright, but the meters that have the audible continuity test are dead handy. It also has a transistor tester which I haven't seen on a pocket multimeter before. There is a socket to plug the transistor in and it measures hFE (current gain?).
