    Alright,

Just a quick question. Has anyone any experience of the weather on the East Coast in November and December - I know it is very hot but I have heard that it can rain torrentially for a couple of hours a day - is it true??

    Thanks.

I've been to Oz a few times. I was in Melbourne for the RWC in Nov 2003 and froze my nuts off. I was in Sydney in November and it was 70ish. We headed for Brissie and Cairns and they were hot 80-90.

Cheers Darren. It's pretty cold in Sydney at the minute, especially at night.

    Feelin hot hot hot

The further north u go the hotter it will get. Cairns will be roasting!

Sydney gets very hot around December and January.

Hot. November - April is box jelly fish season as well so being in the water may not be particularly safe.

My first experience of OZ was arriving late Nov and it was raining for 4 days straight.
Thing about it is that its not like here where if it rains its stays miserable once the rain has gone, over there everything drys up pretty quick and the sun will start shineing.

Once december starts get ready for the sleepless nights, heat is a b***h..

Australia is so big from North to South that the "east coast" can mean different things. Up in the North Cairns will be hot, (so hot that if you are in a town you will step into air conditioned shops and pretend to browse just to cool down) whereas down south in Sydney and down further in Melbourne won't be as exteme.

Have a look at http://www.weather.com and look at the average temperatures (not just the temperature now :), put in the effort and find the yearly breakdown)
