Have you thought about trying to get a cheap flight to LAX and driving across rather than flying direct.

I can't comment on the price of flights but I was there a few years back with a few friends and stayed for three nights. We stayed one night in the Luxor Hilton and Excalibur on the strip. We found that there is an endless supply of rooms midweek unless there is a big convention on. We flew into San Francisco hired a car toured around for two weeks and back home via LAX.

What we did was park the car in one of the Hotels go to the Casino and at about 6pm look for a room, at that time rooms are down to about USD50.00 per room.
Next morning we called reception and were quoted USD180.00 per room to stay another night so we checked out put our gear into the car and hit the casino again and at about 6pm rooms were down to USD50.00.

That worked as it was four lads on tour but I know I could not get my wife to pack her bags and check out of a hotel each day.

if your willing to do it the drive from LA isnt really that bad .Car hire in the US is very cheap if you have a full licence and over 25. As far as accomadation. Staying in some of the big casino/hotels is good craic but if your not that pushed you could pick up some good deals on casino free hotels (rooms from $70) all the big chains have hotels in Vegas

guys everything sounds expensive to me as i wen to vegas in jan, and guess what EVERYTHING WAS PAID FOR,that inc flights 10 days stay in ceasers palace hotel.and also limo to and from hotel.it was the best trip ever as drinks were free in all the casinos. that was the great thing:D

    Free drinks?

    Of everything?

    In all the casinos?

Is there a minimum spend? :D

once you are gambling or pretending to gamble you can order drinkls of the cocktail waitress's that are walking around . if you are super scabby you can buy a six pack in an ice box in the offo's and walk around with it even on the streets and in and out of the casinos, they dont bat an eyelid . Its Quality

Las vegas is brilliant, never been there but my sis is out there now, and she said its brilliant. I'd love to go there some time. With all i've heard about gambling, strip clubs and the general attitude there, i'd say it will have to advance up my to visit list.

i thought this was dead. well ive narrowed it down to the luxor or circus circus. 1978 for the luxor or 1500 for the circus. prob end up with the luxor but cant see any reviews

My parents and my siblings stayed at the Luxor for a week about this time last year. They said it is not the most luxurious hotel, but it is right where the action is and was pretty good.

I was in Vegas 2 years ago and stayed in the older part, at the Stratosphere Hotel. 40 dollars a night mid-week, and that was without bargain hunting etc. Plus, theres a roller-coaster on top of the hotel! Great rooms, clean and quite big. Shop around and you could prob get as low or less.

Yeah they are cheap alright (america's version of ryanair) crappy service no drinks or trolly (and rip-off when there is) on long haul flights.
