sometimes (very rarely) when firefox crashes it loses my cache.

this is very annoying as i'm on 64k and can be a pain having to redownload full web sites again.

does anyone know what is causing this?

Are you using the latest version 1.06? It could also be any extensions you are using. Uninstall any extensions you may have installed lately and see if that helps or check to see if the extension has been updated.

Has it only started to crash since you upgraded to 1.06? You might also want to try the following SessionSaver extension.

What OS are you using? I get a bad feeling that you're using Windows ME or something older!

Have you been uninstalling each previous version before installing the next? It could be some kind of a carry over problem.

Well, I think you may have answered your own question there! Just keep your bookmarks.html and uninstall/delete the rest and do a full, fresh install of Firefox and add your bookmarks.html back into the mix. You could also keep your profile backed up somewhere incase your profile wasn't the problem.
