i just wanted to clarify something cause i reckon i was conned out of a few chips
the blinds were 300-600 and as the action came to me post-flop i raised it to a 1000 and then the guy next to my reraised to 1600 total.
i was almost a 100% that the minimum reraise would have to be a 1000 making him in for 2000 total (minimum)
but the organiser decided otherwise and said that his minimum raise only had to match the big blind
i know there is different rules for pot limit and no-limit bets so could someone please clarify this as i know its going to arise again

    The organiser is an idiot.
Minimum raise must be double the bet, irrespective of the blinds.

But equally you had to raise to 1200, not 1000

Post flop he said. I assume he didnt actually "raise" - but actually bet, its one of the more annoying finnicky things, its checked around to someone who says raise, you cant raise theres no bet into you

He said post-flop, so I assume it was a bet of 1000 followed by a raise, which is fine.
(Rather than a raise and reraise, which are often misused for the same thing.)

Edit: Errr yeah, what Oscar said.

for some reason it really annoys me the way people say raise when they mean bet. Probably because it causes this type of confusion!

Same thing happened to me in a Limerick idiot-fest. He checks, I bet 700 and he throws in a 1000 chip and said nothing. Aparrantly everyone at the table but me knew this was a raise to 1000. Huzzzuh??!? I tried to explain but everyone at the table and also the "TD" made me out to be a complete idiot. Fuktards, every last one of them!!!I Asked the TD afterwards to send me an email so I could explain the rules to him. Fat chance of that.
