Advice on proposed build spec - extra fan needed?

    Hi,

I am building an MCE 2005 machine. It will be placed in a spare box bedroom and Extenders will route the media around the house so the machine does not need to be silent.

Here is my proposed Komplett shopping list. I'd appreciate any advice on this. I won't be using it to play games, though will listen to MP3s on it, though its a small room so I don't want loads of speakers, but is the onboard audio card ok or should I upgrade?

Are Samsung hard drives decent as I might just swap the 250GB Barracuda for a second 200GB Samsung as 400GB total is plenty?

Is the graphics card more than I really need if I'm not using it for games? Not sure this card is MCE compatible so may have to change it.

My main concern is cooling - do I need to get a fan? I've no clue about cooling so need to know what I should get to make sure the machine will not overheat as it will be on for long periods of time providing media to TVs in other rooms, while also being used for normal PC stuff. Any advice on what fans, coolant to get would be much appreciated.

    Nice one,
    Grimesy

Looks okay to me. There is no harm is adding another fan, i dont see the components getting to hot with what u are going to be doing but for an extra 5bucks why not just pop 1 in :). 400gb should be more than enough. If your going to be watching movies u may want to splash out on better speakers though.
