The minimum of a Cert in an IT related discipline is the one thing I don't have. I'm sure I have the same level of experience though.

When would this employment be due to commence? Presumably the start date is some time in Sept 2005 ?

Also, your website gives the employment contact as jobs@hosting365.ie yet the address given here is hr@hosting365.ie - can you confirm that hr@ is correct?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,472 ✭✭✭Sposs

afaik start date is for around the start of september.

    This is a permanent position.
    Opportunities for advancement?
This is a growing company and we want all our staff to progress.
I can't guarantee the type of position that may arise in the future.
We value progression with in the workplace.
    What benefits are on offer?
This will be discussed once candidates reach the interview stage.

We aim to fill any vacancy internally before we look externally for new staff.

That’s illegal and you could be sued by someone saying that you
discriminated against them because they didn't work for

I went to a seminar give by a legal firm in the mont clare hotel
about 4-6 months ago and you wouldn't believe the absolute
crap that employers get sued for.

even sued by people who didn't work for then due to a case
involving the same sort of statement above.

I’ll have a look for the handouts they gave and post a link to their web site
i’m sure it will have a download of the seminar, it really is unbelievable

company was O'Donnell Sweeney, it was a free breakfast seminar
in the Berkely Court on 26 april

don't see anything about it on their web www.odonnellsweeney.ie

Give over. How can they be sued for promoting someone internally before advertising a job externally? I really find that hard to believe.

one case was were they did advertise the job externally
and a failed candicated sued on the basis that they were
discriminated against because a current employee of the
company got the job and the failed person claimed they
were better qualified and should have gotten the job.

another case was where a company never advertised a job
externally and got sued for not doing so.
i think it was a government\large multi nat and it was policy
to publish jobs so thats why they got sued.

i'll have a look for the handouts to check details but it really would
    put you off employing people.

Your first point isn't really relevant to the situation here.

The second one surprises me and I'd appreciate it if you could provide more information on it. Maybe it's because it was a state job and there could be different rules for them? In my own experience anywhere I've worked, including in the public sector, has tended to advertise jobs internally before externally. I don't see a problem with it as they've advertised externally if they haven't got the person they need.

aha! So that explains why large numbers of positions within the public service are filled internally?

not directly relevent, but if they did find someone internally
for this post. the statement would add weight to a complaint made
    by anybody who missed out.

its usually in educational posts ie(schools, unversities) where it is a
requirment that post are advertised both in\externally

i'll have look see if i can find the notes in work, but it was
a statement similar to the one "Job only filled Internally ...."
that i remember because we only employ grads and move
them through the company and so it was relevent to us.

now it was a free seminar by solicitor so i'd say there was
a fair bit of scaremongering going on.

i'll look for the notes and start a new thread with them

suppose this is like the sitaution where Irish people must be offered a job before a foreigner? I suppose an Irish person could sue if a foreigner was hired ahead of a local?

hosting365 are you sending confirmation of receipt of applications? Just wondering as i sent one in but no reply as of yet.
Also when do you plan on holding interviews?
    thanks

I emailed in an application too. Didn't even get a Read Receipt from their mail client. I guess they must be collecting them up at the moment ? I'd imagine interviews would be taking place soon though if it was a 1st week of Sept start :S

had an interview with them a few days ago..nice place...they said they'll let ppl know if they got the job before the weekend.

So I guess if you'd not been contacted or had an interview then they're not interested :(

Most places send you out a "Thank you for your application, you're not what we're looking for email" though...

Actually, usually when they pick all the people, they then send out a letter a few days later. So untill they pick all the people, no letter.
