Dunno about my details, haven't played it online yet - hadn't a PC powerful enough till recently but I likes Orkes and Eldar.
Space marines are for pussies who like a safe bet, and Chaos are just mildly annoying for me.

I use the Space Marine online mainly because I've never tried any others, except for the Orks. Eldar are a tricky race to control, and as far as the Chaos go, I can't stand the way their units rant on about the ****ing dark god all the time. Orks are simply hilarious.

im tring to get good at 2v2 games now especially on Quantra
I helped organise (with Faero) the DoW competition at Gamecon 7...
didnt win though, was a silly boy in the semi finals by going for the tech up :mad: instead of rush.

normally im a SM player but im tring to use chaos a bit more and get faster at the defiler spam, latest patch makes Chaos unfair i think.

after i get good with them I hope to learn Eldar a bit more (can u guess?? - Brightlance and Prism spam ofc!)

Well im currently trying to get a few Irish Players together for a frequent game every now and again, especially seeing as making a server and letting random people join usually results in them getting smashed by the comps / spamming utter dribble during the game, lagging or simply dropping when they don't get their own way.

If you ever fancy practicing via a few comp stomps, give us a shout.

Haven't played online, only with friends at LANs. First tried the Space Marines but found nothing special about them. Then tried the Eldar for a while, which were great against Orks, but the blast radius of the Grav Tank's main gun kept kicking my own ass so I switched to Chaos. I haven't even contemplated the Orks because of the whole 'More Choppy' and 'Pile O' Gunz'. That tomfoolery would drive me up the walls!

Generally play 2v2 against the computer on Hard. It seems that the step up to 'Harder' is pretty insane, or is it just me?

Cheers Fidelis, although it was something that had to be done.

I was rather apalled at the lack of a DoW Forum so I made the request today.
I'm sure there's lots of people out there who play it (Or will play it) and once we get a fair idea of the numbers, who knows what will happen after that. Already, someone has a DoW Competition planned at their LAN, so there's a starting point anyhow.

Loved DOW, never got into it online. Used to play Eldar religiously. A throw back to my 40K minis days. Occasional defections to play Marines were due to my 2nd Ed Blood Angel days.

Orks are solid in the game though. Never liked chaos much.

There were a bunch of us on the strategy forum that met up a few nites and had some games online when it first came out, i'd be up for playing it again, great game. Just checked my online scores and they've been reset at some point, pity, from memory I was doing quite well as the Orks.

Good stuff, this is what I was after.

It'd be nice for a few regular Irish players to hook up now and again to organise some proper games. I'm trying to avoid just joining random games mainly because of the attitude and muppetry some people plaster while your trying to play.

Once apon a game, I came across a guy who decided to build Leman Russ / Looted Leman Russ tanks and actually slay his own team buy using the 'Fire On Ground' ability on his allies thereby ruining his own teams bases, for the FUN of it.

What a waste of time it was.

Tried requesting a mIRC bot for #DawnOfWar.ie, but had no registered OP's so I couldn't do it.

If anyone else would like to try, it'd be handy for meeting up outside of this Board if anyone is really interested in playing regular games.
I'll leave the decision to the masses.

I can look into a server of some kind for us. Have a friend (non boards person) who might be up for doing it.

I'll have to talk to him and see. I know he loved DOW though.

Dawn Of War is more popular than some people think, so it would be nice if we get some form of regular DoW community going to see how it fares.
Regardless of what hour you log online, you're pretty much guaranteed at least one hundred people will be playing. Thats certainly enough people to worm a few games out of.

yuppidy, just got the game. Been playing orks on skirmish! Always used to play orks in the tabletop game (i even bought gorkamorka. i loved that game). There seems to be a fair few ork players online.

Well, not a clan 'as such' unless people want this sort of thing, but we can certainly team up and play other 'clans' if we sort out a regular game / regular players.

KBKarma. I'm a bit of an online noob, though. I play Orks or Marines. Mainly Orks. I could do with some help getting up to scratch. I haven't had much of a chance to play skirmishes. I'm available every day till Fresher's Week. After that, I'll be available at random times over the weekends. I eat at about 8, and my dad goes on the net immediately after. So that's the window when I'm on.

Anyone else think its abit unfair that Orks can only outnumber Space Marines by 3. Bit stupid seeing as how theyre the most populous race in the Galaxy?

And for the record - Planned games generally go by what's more convieniant for the player - We stuck to 1.4 last time seeing as Winter Assault wasn't long out, so maybe this time it'll be Winter Assault instead (Seeing as most people have it, now)
