Just saw this show for the first time this morning and its terrible. I don't know why RTE are trying to imitate the soccer chat shows that BBC1 and UTV have but, if they were going to attempt this, they could of at least got some decent presenters.

Why, oh why, did they get rid of Breaking Ball, a very good and informative show, for this crap?

Haven't seen the show myself Lemlin, but I read a few TV reviews of it that said it was crap. I caught my Dad watching it one morning though, but he didn't watch it the following week!
You are right about Breaking Ball, that was a class show, probably why RTE got rid of it.

Twas indeed class. Altho Breaking Ball Xtra with all its MTV style camera angles was total rubbish.
A good idea for a show would be a Saturday night show where they could preview the games to be played on the Sunday. With the panel giving their verdicts/reasons for who will win. Would make for some interesting debates in the car on the way to games on the Sunday.

Managed to watch some of it last weekend.

RTE are trying to copy the "Soccer AM" style show from Sky and failing miserably.

I haven't seen it, but from what I am hearing I am not missing anything.

I thinking their trying for a mix of Sky's Soccer AM and ITV's On The Ball. I don't think a Saturday night show would work, everyone is too busy in the pub usually. That's why they show chat shows like Tubridy tonight that appeal to older audiences.

A decent Sunday morning show would be good though. People could watch it before they set off for the game or even Friday evenings. Hopefully this travesty won't last past this Championship though.

Seen it myself for the first time this weekend, awful from the start. Did anyone notice the cardboard cut outs of the players at the very start ? The 4 hurling semi-finalists were represented, but (what looked like) Eugene Cloonan had a black cover over his face ???? Looked really cheap. Must be the only hurler they knew from Galway but then realised he wasn't on the panel. Sad and cheap really

The idea is that some people will think exactly what claw14 though of the above. Thats what makes it funny for the people who thought of it and the viewers who get it. :D

Give it a chance. Newstalk's sports show in the evenings was dreadful at the very beginning, but they were learning as they were going along and now its the best thing on the radio. Unfortunately there is less patience in the TV world, but I think it will come good.

thanks be to jc i only say the show one. the girl cant count, cant take photos of the guests. all you could see was jamsie o connors forehead. really really bad show. rte always cancel good shows. breaking ball was the best. remember pat spillanes little segment on the evening sunday game? round 98 or so. the eamon dunphy of gaa. real entertainment. best catchphrases like "woeful" a hundred times in a sentence. didnt like what he said bout clares tommy morrisey in 92 though. cost us an all star.
