I'm moving to Galway in a few weeks to do a postgrad in NUI Galway only problem is I've never been to Galway before! I have a place in Cuirt na Coiribe sorted already, just wondering how far a walk it really is. Also where are any good places to look for part-time student jobs ( I have years of bar and waitressing experience). I know the paper is one place but I mean what areas woud be handy for Cuirt. I have a car so anywhere with parking nearby would be fine. Thanks

The Advertiser is a free Galway paper that comes out on Thursdays. That would almost definitely be your best bet for finding a job. A good site to check out would be www.su.nuigalway.ie.

Cuirt Na Coirbe is about a fifteen minute walk from the campus, or about a five minute drive.

Looks like a nice place but I've never been there tbh. Good luck with your postgrad and enjoy Galway!

Cuirt is grand, they're nice apartments and they're close by the college if u walk across the quincentennial bridge..its more like a 10 minute walk at a decent pace. They have all these crazy rules tho, no smoking, noise moniters in the apt and the likes but dont worry they dont tend to enforce them much. Best bet for jobs is the galway shopping centre or terryland retail park, both are right acrooss the street. Towns only a 15 minute walk as well. Wlthough there's plenty of pubs and clubs in Galway, jobs are hard to come by, between NUIG and GMIT there's alot of students looking for work and supply far exceeds demand

One thing about quincentennial its the most exposed part of galway. Can be a challenge on a windy day.
