    Hi

I colleague of my mother gave her bunch of Rhubarb from his own garden, what I would like to know is it safe to eat it in August. Also the rhubarb is very green and I heard you should only eat rhubarb in June.

I hope so! I ate some last week. Tho the stuff I ate was red on the outside but I cut the outer layer off leaving only green before cooking it.

Anyway I'm still alive to type this so it must be Ok?

Only in June? That's madness. Rhubarb matures at different rates, depending on whether or not it's forced. This also affects the colour of the skin. Just don't eat the leaves.
