So the planning permission came through there a few weeks ago. not too many conditions etc so all in all very lucky to get it sorted in about 8 weeks :)

we are looking at putting the finance package together and as it is a self build the bank want us to suppply costings. Who best to approach to do this? An Architect, Engineer or Quantity surveyor.

I know we will be eventually looking at getting an engineer to do the stage inspections for drawdown.

Would it be aswell to get a bill of Quantities also at this stage as it would be v handy for going away looking for quotes.

    any advice appreciated

It wouldn't do any harm to have them! I would recommend getting a QS to do this for you! It could save a fair bit of money in the long run!

I got a BoQ from a QS and the price came in at a ridiculously high level.
They seem very cautious and the level of detail you give them counts.

Now i have to go and get prices from all the trades before i start to get the money. Another 2 months or so down the drain
