Anyone else heard the ad on the radio for the Villages upcoming gigs?

Voice-over guy pronounces the Pere part of Pere Ubu, as "Peh-re"...

Maybe i'm mistaken but i always thought that, seeing as it is named after a character from a French play, that it is "Père", ie french for "father". So the pronunciation i've always used sounds like "Pear" Ubu...

Anybody else got an opinion on its pronunciation?

Oh man... you gotta find out then.

What happens if you shout out 'That tune rocks Peh-re Ubu!', and the band storm off because of the mispronunciation insult?

    The 'pear' pronunciation is correct.

I'm undecided if I'll go or not.

I had a ticket for the Olympia show but couldn't go in the end.

Everything up to Song of The Bailing Man is excellent while Cloudland has its moments.
