There is no maximum as there are no upper limits on some of the factors. Since some of the figures are the number of points over the median for a race it will be totally different from race to race. Therefore a horse with a rating of 20 in one race is not necessarily a better bet than one with 12 in another race.

The best way to read them is to find horses that are well clear of the rest of that race. A good example of this is the 4:00 race where Simplify and Amazin are rated well ahead of the rest of the field.

Not trying to hijack your thread masterK but I really don't think my post is worthy of a thread dedicated to it

Anyway, I'm up the walls in work so I can't really post a detailed selection so I am sorry to everyone for this, and I haven't studied the card properly either so chances are it'll still be running tomorrow but anyway here goes...

Snake Skin to be placed. I think the race is between Unique Moment and First Empire to be honest, but I had a quick glimpse of Snake Skin, and I liked what I saw. Currently trading at 14/1, I think it is worth an e/w bet. Although, the punters have been doing well so far at Bev today. Anyway back to work, I wouldn't back it if I was you, just thought I'd throw it up anyway. Cheers.

First Empire wins, Snake Skin is still running :rolleyes:

At SP a profit of 2 points for the day in the end, it's worthwhile to note that of the 3 bets that made money all were well backed especially Singalong.

I took all the prices at SP, obviously taking early prices or using Betfair would have added to the profit.

Very interestingly, I've I had only backed the top rated horse in each race that would have given a very healthy profit of 12 points from only 20 staked. It was also backing the second highest rated in each race that brought profits down as all 5 lost. It's definitely something I'll be keeping an eye on in future. Of the 5 top rated 3 returned winnings while the other 2 were both placed, so all 5 top rated selections were at least placed.
