Do you get an error when it crashes or it a BSOD?
Is there much running in the background at the time?

no more background processes than normal
no error messages show up just straight back to desktop
this card sure should handle the high setting, res is only 1024 x 768
    and AA 2x

I had one 512 module of the same speed but generic memory installed too but it still crashes without it too

Hmmm, I'm wondering if it's a possible dual core related problem, is that motherboard known as a good one for dual core ? It might be worth checking for BIOS updates for it (and paying attention to all the warnings that come with it re BIOS flashing of course :) ). Also, I think normally if a system is low on power it would totally crash, not just crash to desktop, but I'm wondering if a dual core might still be able to keep windows running, the when the power requirements go down again, run as normal. You've some pretty power hungry parts there, is 400W definitely enough ?

Edit: I think the latest version of 3DMark is good at stressing both cores and the GPU at the same time, you might try running that and see how it get's on.

Yea I asked if the power supply was enough when I ordered and they said yes it was. From researching about the board it was good too although it had to be flashed and has the latest bios. I have run tests with sandra pro 05 and they all were fine i must see tonight what the numbers were though

Those Fortron PSU's are good, I doubt it has anything to do with the crashing. BF2 occasionally crashes back to the desktop with no errors on me too (only the odd time though), and I'm running a single-core A64 3200+ with the same motherboard and a Sapphire X800 PCI-E.

Try it on high settings again but turn off AntiAliasing option, just in case it may be an AA issue,

    Process of elimination
