Was looking at Channel 4 just now and saw an advertisement for the Renault Scenic- it went along the lines of the the car beeping in the garage, sort of like a puppy yapping. Everyone comes down to see whats happening. The car excitedly drives out of the garage and purring around the family members. Suddenly it spies a cat on the fence, and vanishes out the gate in a cloud of dust. You hear a loud screech and a thud. The car drives back in the gate again, wagging its rear window wiper like a tail, as though its a puppy all happy with itself........

Poor puddy cat........

The by-line to the add is "Its got spirit...."

Its SHI*I*ITE....the new gen car ads tell you absolutely nothing about the cars. Just make it look good. The zafira ad is informant though.

There was another car ad I saw last night that beats the pants off that. Can't even remember what the car was (see how effective the advertising was??). Basically this guy is moving mannequins (SP?) from one place to the other, and he puts two or three in the back of his car. As he's driving, one of the statues begins to move a little, like its getting a bit "bothered". It hitches up its skirt, exposing the top of its stockings and suspenders. Anyway, the guy arrives at his destination and the statue goes back to normal. But as he's carrying it away from the car he notices that its now got two excited nipples big enough to take his eye out! The tag line was something about how sensual the car was, or something. I doubt the ad will be displayed many times more before some aul wan complains.

What's worse is that you just know there are some deluded people out there that bought the megane solely cos they think it makes them sexier somehow....then again I suppose sex has been selling cars for decades...

the one with Henry driving about and at the end he asks "Whats the french for va va voom?" .....hes french,surely if anybody is to know it would be him!

The VW Gti ad with that Singing in the Rain scene redone is amazing.

And the Citroen C5 ad with the car turning into a robot and dancing is amazing too.

The ad for the new Polo where the tree falls and the car becomes a giant leafy bush but keeps driving...... Thats lame.
