harry was a friend of mine, one of the old dublin punks, around since 77 and a well known head around dublin in the late 70's and into the early 80's when i first met him. he moved to london around 85/86 when there was a load of irish punks went to squat in woodgreen in north london and died over there ten years ago so the weekend is a way of remembering him.

harry done zines, was in bands, wrote poetry, partied like a madman and was generally a big loss.

you might know a stricnein cover of one of harrys songs from back in the day, "Decaying mortuary" its on one of their cds.

a lot of the people who knew harry would be the older heads on the scene, the likes of the paranoid visions people, skinny from coldwar, tommy trousers from moutpiece etc but the weekend is for everyone as we are all in some way still building on the efforts that those like harry put in years ago when being a punk in ireland really was putting two fingers up to the establishment in the seventies.

the weekend is just a result of a few of us not wanting to let him be forgotten

Hey Conor,

Can you post up details of whats happenin' for the whole w'end. Have heard conflicting reports of where it is (Dalymount, Vodoo Lounge etc.) and which days. Also would kids be ok during the day in Dalymount? Few people comin over with bear'uns...

And... they're listed on the Mark Foggo gig poster for 23rd Sept but not on the Toxic gig list.:eek:

Hi paula just posted all the details on here in another thread, kids ok in bohs both days etc. looking for old photos from dublin / woodgreen etc if ya have any, not just of harry but of the general scene / people back then.
