Photo clubs

    I'm wondering does anyone here know of any photographic clubs or societies in Dublin I could join. I like photography, I have the kit, but I don't take photographs as much as I should. Sometimes it seems a little too...solitary. It would be nice to meet other people who are into it so we could head out together on day-trips and the like. It wouldn't make me look as strange on my own anyway!

    Anyone?

    Edit: I should mention I'm 19 and would prefer to meet people of my own age group.

    You could try joiningDeviantART, it's a good art community (though much of the time it seems there's more focus on the "community" than the "art" side of things). Then you can join a photography group on that site, there's literally hundreds.

    I've been looking for a group to join myself as well, in Galway, as an online one isn't as good as a real live one so to speak ;) It's bloody hard to find one, I'm 18 so the local Camera Club is a wee bit old for me. Plus my bf's dad is in it, which could be strange :p

    is a good start, bit pricey to join, but worth the money.. check out www.dublincameraclub.ie. I havn't been for a while, but they have some good talks/ exhibitions/ comps/ outing's etc which you can learn a lot from...

    The Irish Photographic Federation is the national body of Amateur photographic societies in Ireland. If you really want to learn some true skills, IPF clubs are the place to be. full list at site below (they've only recently updated their site, so some of it is a bit rough around the edges, but you'll find all the club info there)
