Peugeot 206 problems

    Hi all,
I just bought a Peugeot 206 (2000 reg) and collected it from the garage at the weekend.

Unfortunately there already seems to be a problem with it. I'm not hugely worried as it came with a years guarantee so I know I can get whatevers wrong fixed but am curious as to what might be wrong with it because I cant get it back to the garage until early next week.

It seemed fine when I test drove it, and I drove it about 140 miles yesterday and it was fine, but then last night as I was out and about it started to rattle in the engine, especially when I was starting off from stopped, reversing , or accelerating up a hill. Also, twice when I parked the car and had my feet off all the pedals it started accelarating like mad itself.

Someone has said it sounds like something wrong with the timing in it. has anyone any suggestions on what might be wrong??
    Thanks!
