I dont mean to be a cnut or anything but i suggest you have a look at this sticky at the top of the computer forum. Go to one of the on-line shops (ones * are popular on boards) have a look at the various parts needed and list who you think would be reasonable here. People will read it and then make suggestions.
As for cpu's its either amd 64's or intel pentiums
gfx cards there's radeon and nvidia, higher the number the better the card (where agp is becoming out dated)
mobo's is up to you how much you want to spend, these are cpu specific
more ram is better for performance, again there's different types of these
psu's stick to the good brands, its not worth the hasle skimping on a cheap psu
harddisks, get what ever you think gb's is enough for you.

    Jozi

EDIT: what will you be using your pc for, office stuff, coding, gaming....???

what the hell is with all these people coming on and "ordering" a custom build? **** off and build your own comp. Its alright asking for some assistance, but this isn't "get-your-complete-part-list-here.ie"

see if you help me and i learn about this stuf and then i can help other staters see its a cycle.

If you helped yourself first, maybe posted an example of what you'd like instead of getting someone else to do it. Also, please check this out http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=280576

    Bollocks.
You didn't utilise the wonderful search function to pull up the 200 or so similar threads from the past 6 months.

Unless you're prepared to research a little and put a bit of effort to educate yourself you'd be better off buying a Dell with the full 5 year support because you're going to be royally fúcked int he future.

Off-topic: What is with the recent mini-surge of people with galway in their nicks? Letting the side down and sullying our reputation...etc. etc. etc.

I spent ages researching and reading countless reviews before coming up with what i have now in my current machine.
Have a look at past threads, as sugested and read reviews lots of reviews

Have a read through some of the previous posts, get some information for yourself, ask questions about the stuff you dont understand........ its a better approach, theres just alot of "spec me a pc" that goes on and its much more of an advantage to yourself if you have some knowledge of the parts in the first place (as you can give more info etc).

Webmonkey, fair play for listing the spec but there are a few problems ...

Firstly You've picked a Socket939, and DDR2 Memory.... that should be DDR, and as standard Pc3200 would be fitted. Also i see SATA2 hard drive.... dont think thats compatible with SATA1 (although SATA2 is backward compatible).

Galway guy, give us a little more info, possibly after reading previous threads or doing a little bit of googling. There are tonnes of different parts.

Sata300 drives generally have a jumper on the back to limit them to Sata150 for compatability with cranky controllers.

    At least my Samsungs did.

Galway Guy, if you're looking at over-clocking you've got a lot of research and reading ahead of you. Start by reading threads on the HW Modding & Tweaking board.

Fan: Depends largely on whether you want performance or silence. It's a balance.
Either way this has some good info.

Paste: Arctic Silver 5. It is sold on komplett.ie, I bought a 12g syringe about a montha go.

Very good cooler with a papst 92mm fan, works a charm for me Or 1 of these
I wouldnt go for the superlan boy tbh, i much more prefer the antec P160.
Also if your a gamer steer well clear of wireless mice, logitec mx518 is a good choice (popular).
What you should do now is google reviews of the parts you listed and read up on some reviews, see what better value for money.
