I bought a bootiful VW Golf during the week, dash lights are all red and blue so I wanted a nice CD player to match. They have one or 2 in Argos but none in stock so decided to go further afield....any suggestions? I've looked in a few specialist shops but oh my holy bob, ridiculous prices!!

    :p

Maybe if you defined "reasonably priced" a little more precisely, you'd get more help.

One word of warning though ... there's blue and there's blue :) What I mean is that many radios with blue backlighting emit a slightly different shade of blue to the VW dash lights. It doesn't take much difference for it to become slightly annoying.

I bought mine off these guys (www.mcs-direct.co.uk ) - much cheaper than anywhere in Ireland. Got a steering wheel remote also and still cheaper including shipping.

Here's the head unit I bought, which I love - plays mp3's off cd-r's which means I can load a cd up with maybe 7 to 10 albums, and the boot changer controls on the remote control the navigation between folders. Love it. And looks good on the red dash of my beamer.

this STEREO very closely matches the golf interior display with the blue lights and red buttons and is mp3 compatible aswell, it is an exclusively german model but also has the english menu it is the best match for the golf and at €165 delivered its about €100 cheaper than the equivilent model here

    this is classs... http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/114326/art/h-b/ca-5555-cd-mp3-usb-car-ra.html

head unit with a SD card slot and a USB port for €116

Some unheard-of make, but it probably wont be long before the bigger brands start churning them out. JVC have one for 400 quid or something rediculous

Thanks a million for all the help people! I'll let ya know which one I go for....

One shop I went into had a plain cd player for about e400 and the next one up was e2000! Couldn't believe it...so I guess by reasonable I meant not ridiculous :)

    Cheers again! :p

    www.caraudiosecurity.com is excellent, as is incarexpress.co.uk (www.caraudio.ie)
