    Hey all,

I won my first tournament last night :D

However, when I got to head to head, I realised I didn't have a clue how to play it. I basically won it through luck and aggression I think. Does anyone have any good advice or links on how best to play a head to head in hold'em?

    Dan

Hector is doing a heads up article in the next edition on Poker Player Ireland (cough cough). Should be out in two/three weeks time (cough cough).

Seriously though, looking forward to reading that article myself, just in case I ever get that far in a tournament :)

There's some good articles on the Ultimate Bet website and also some of the early blog entries at shipitpoker.blogspot.com

I think you basically summed up how to win heads up yourself perfectly....agression and luck.....thats whats it comes down to.

well done, play some low stakes heads up games to get the feel for it more. im ashamed to say it but about 80% of my poker played so far has been in heads up games. im giving it up now to concentrate primarily on single table tournaments and play im more live games. one of the good things that has come from playing heads up games it is that i relish getting heads up in a stt and it doesnt daunt me in the slightest.

just learn as you go along. Usually have to play more aggressive heads up.

Also it can go either way!!! Even if you have a 10 to 1 chip lead you can still be beaten!
