try booting up in safe mode, and reinstall your display drivers

Aye, sounds very much like a screen resolution problem.

angelofdeaths advice should be all you need to get back on the road.

If you have another AGP card lying around that'll do the trick too. Open up the machine, stick in the other card and reboot.
Then you can change the rates, remove the card and replace the previous one.

This is a little arduous but it has worked for me every time I've tried it. There's probably a simpler way, but failing simpler, go for this ;)

I put in the other card, but instead of the no input signal it stays on the error checking screen, i could still hear it boot. I tried safe mode but it sticks on the loading screen. starting to seriously annoy me.

time for the aul windows xp cd to come out then i'd say

try a repair from the cd

if that doesn't help you can manually repair the system hive from the recovery cd all this will take time, might be easier to reinstall :)

    good luck

Can you boot off the xp cd and get into the recovery console?

    Recovery Console Info:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654/EN-US/

Once in the recovery console, browse to

    C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst

and run spuninst.exe, this should uninstall the service pack and hopefully get you booting again.

    Sorry thought you'd installed sp2.... :o

He said the problem started after uninstalling the sp. couldn't do any harm to try uninstall something that's not installed tho...

Im having problems when im uploading my internet cuts out, it never happened before untill the last few months and when i done a search some people said it was a sp2 problem, so i was just checking. Ive never had any problems with sp2 so if i find out im still getting the problem on sp1 ill just reinstall it. When i got a problem that i cant for the life of me fix thats when i do anything, hence the uninstall :)
